OH, hi there! I'm so glad you found me, if you don't already know I'm Mikayla. Sometimes described as a "fiery red headed artist" I am also an actress, musician, and photographer. I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with coffee (especially iced lattes for my other fanatics reading this). If I'm not behind my camera you will most likely find me reading a novel, if the weather is nice enough, outside, binging my favorite shows on Netflix, or spending time with some pretty awesome people. I'm an animal person (I really don't think I can choose between cats or dogs!) and my desk is normally an organized messy.
Recently I graduated from Huntingdon Area High School and am attending West Virginia University for the next four years with a minor in photography. I was raised in Huntingdon Pennsylvania, a small rural town with a quiet personality. I'm mostly based in central Pennsylvania as well as Morgantown West Virginia. About four years ago I began casual photography as a form of self expression. It wasn't long before I fell in love and the hobby quickly turned into a passion as I invested in my first camera. I couldn't wait to get home so I could capture the perfect light before sunset (something photographers call "golden hour"). Finding inspiration and encouragement from social media and my own mind, I have only learned and improved since first pointing my lens.
Over the years I've discovered that I enjoy working with people in this setting the most because, as an artist, I get to capture what no one else really gets to see. There is something truly magical that happens right before the shutters snap shut that just doesn't happen anywhere else. My goal is to create a clean and clear picture of the emotions and personality that make up each of my clients.
